Portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) technology has revolutionized the exploration industry by providing rapid, on-site elemental analysis. However, the journey from raw data collection to actionable insights involves several steps, with the transfer of assay results to a database being critical.
Data integrity refers to the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data throughout its lifecycle. In the context of pXRF assay results, this refers to the collection of metadata, the accuracy and precision of results, the reproducibility of results, and the traceability and auditability of the process.
Partnering for Smarter Exploration
maxgeo is excited to explain how our collaboration with Evident Scientific captures and delivers pXRF data for the resources industry. Using feedback from our clients in the field and understanding that there was an increasing need to both trust and utilise the results, we partnered with Evident Scientific to create a live integration of pXRF data into DataShed, our data management software.
We leveraged the ability of the Vanta TM handheld XRF analyser to capture meta data with the automation and data management within DataShed to deliver a seamless and quick way to capture and anaylse the data. The standard maxgeo export template we have created will capture results and meta data at the source and can be set up as an automation workflow to get pXRF data from your analyser to Datashed seamlessly. Ultimately providing accurate data to enable better informed decision making.
Advantages of Automation
Automating the process of loading pXRF results offers several significant advantages for users, enhancing both efficiency and data integrity:
- Mininizing Human Error: Manual data entry is prone to errors, such as transcription mistakes, data loss, or misinterpretation. Automation eliminates these risks by ensuring direct and accurate transfer of data from the pXRF machine to the database
- Time Efficiency: Automated systems significantly reduce the time required for data transfer. What could take hours manually can be accomplished in minutes, freeing up valuable time for researchers to focus on data analysis and interpretation
- Consistent Data Formatting: Automated processes ensure that data is consistently formatted according to predefined standards. This uniformity facilitates easier data analysis, reporting, and integration with other datasets
- Real-Time Data Availability: Automation enables real-time data transfer, ensuring that the most up-to-date results are always available
- Scalability: As the volume of pXRF data grows, manual data handling becomes increasingly impractical. Automated systems can easily scale to accommodate large datasets, maintaining efficiency and accuracy without additional human resources
Embracing automation not only streamlines workflow but also upholds the high standards of data integrity essential for reliable assay results, enabling you to make more informed decisions.
Smarter Exploration and Improved Efficiency
Innovative technology that improves the integrity and accessibility of data within the exploration and mining industry is the driving force behind maxgeo. Using feedback from our clients and the expert knowledge of our engineers we are constantly improving our software to ensure it enhances the integrity of the data used in these industry’s.
We are excited that our latest partnership with Evident Scientific has allowed both companies to deliver a product that facilitates smarter exploration and operational optimisation.
