DataShed5 and IMDEXHUB-IQ™ System Integration Partnership
How DataShed5 and IMDEX are proving the theory that managing multiple data sources centrally is the key to gaining powerful industry insights.
“Having all of the right information at hand is the dream of anyone who needs to make critical decisions.”
Having all the right information at the ready is critical to anyone who needs to make big decisions. In the age of data overload, however, having all of that information with no viable way of comparing it means the job is only half done.
Over the past 20 years the proliferation of data capture technology and information dissemination tools has seen an explosion in the amounts of data captured and shared. A study by IDC: Data Age 2025 suggested that the Global DataSphere will grow from 33 zettabytes in 2018 to 175 zettabytes by 2025. That’s an Atlantic ocean of ones and zeros!
With all of this in mind, maxgeo has recognised the unique importance of building reliable tools to manage data and present it in ways that illuminate the opportunities to decision-makers in the mining and exploration industries. One significant innovation recently has been its integration with IMDEXHUB-IQ™.
IMDEX has a global reputation in the resource and drilling industries for its cutting-edge, cloud-connected devices and drilling optimisation products. It has been leading the way with its specialist tools to improve the process of identifying and extracting mineral resources for 40 years. An example of this is the REFLEX GYRO SPRINT-IQ™ which ensures your drill hole is completed as planned while providing real-time data on operations.
For drilling operations to now have the advantage of seamlessly marrying their IMDEXHUB-IQ data to a DataShed interface, the advantages run deep. Tool data held in the IMDEXHUB-IQ™ can now poll every 15 minutes to update your DataShed5 database, allowing powerful reporting possibilities in next-to-real time. This is truly an example of the potential to unlock powerful opportunities in time-sensitive data analysis directly from the field.
An example of the way in which this integration works is as follows:
- Drilling PLOD Data (Daily Drilling Record) is collected on IMDEX Mobile and backed up via the IMDEXHUB-IQ™, which is a cloud based data server.
- Once IMDEXHUB-IQ and the Maxwell Data Schema (MDS) are integrated, approved fields can be presented alongside other relevant data directly onto the Drilling Summary Dashboard in DataShed5.
There are many advantages to systems integration and for those currently working the IMDEX and DataShed solutions this integration presents a groundbreaking opportunity to provide continuous data management improvement and create a culture of data quality within your organisation.
